Warrandyte Market

Mmmmmm. Smell that fresh country air. Smell those delicious dumplings and handmade gozleme, made fresh right in front of your very eyes. I'm talking about the Warrandyte market. This outdoor market is set in the most gorgeous spot on earth; on the banks of the Yarra river and runs the first Saturday of every month with a few extra markets thrown in before Christmas.

As with most Victorian markets you need to be up bright and early. This market runs from 9am to 1pm and with around 200 stalls you won't be sorry you had to wriggle out of bed early for this one. Choose from homemade bags, jewellery, cakes, spices, baby clothes, toys, garden art, photographs, wood frames, gourmet food, plants and flowers, macarons, country cordial, birdseed bells, leather belts, fresh squeezed orange juice plus lots more! If you're looking for quality and something unique look no further. Kids and dogs welcome although pooches must be on leads.

I recommend you get to this market by 10am at the latest if you want to see everything. Parking is limited in Stiggants Reserve and can be difficult to get out when crowded. There is plenty of parking along the roadside on Warrandyte Road if you don't mind walking a little way. Afterwards rest your weary legs and refuel your energy levels at one of the many cafes in Warrandyte.
